SED asks its officials to ensure efficiency, speedy disposal of files in department | KNO

Srinagar, Nov 26 (KNO): The government on Tuesday asked the officials of School Education Department to use digital signatures by the signing authorities including Deputy Secretaries and Under Secretaries to sign the government communiqués. In a circular issued by the SED, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) states that the move will ensure efficiency and speedy disposal of the files in the department. “The e-office platform has been implemented to enable seamless digital documentation, communication, and workflow management with the aim of enhancing productivity, transparency and accountability in the functioning of the department,” it reads. SED also said that it has observed that the processing of the files and receipts is being delayed and processed casually and this lack of diligence has been viewed seriously by the competent authority. “Accordingly, it is impressed upon all the officials of the School Education Department to strictly adhere to the following guidelines in letter and spirit to ensure timely creation and processing of file and receipt to avoid unwarranted delays,” it reads. The department has also asked the concerned officials of the department to ensure that the time bound matters must be disposed-off on priority basis. It states that “Proper categorization, tagging, and indexing of documents should be followed to ensure easy retrieval and tracking.” “Use of digital signatures by the signing authorities including of Deputy Secretaries and Under Secretaries to sign the government orders, office orders, circulars and letters etc,” reads the circular. SED further said that the monthly audit of pendency of files and receipts should be conducted and action be taken against delinquent officers—(KNO)
